Seema Kohli

A versatile and celebrated artist, Seema Kohli was honoured with the Lalit Kala Akademi National Award for Women, for her accomplishments in the contemporary Indian art scene. She gives an exquisite form to her expressions through several disciplines such as paintings, sculpture, installation and performance.

Rejoicing in the female's power, energy, beauty and sensuality, Seema Kohli’s creations portray the various facets of a woman. A self-taught artist with over three decades of practice, she draws inspiration from mythology, philosophy, iconography and literature to create stories that reclaim the lost feminine narrative in cultural history.
